Named for an effect it has never convincingly demonstrated. Fifty years of research have not established that it induces sleep in humans.

Refrigerated at 2–8 °C, protected from light.
After mixing
Refrigerated at 2–8 °C. Do not freeze once mixed.
Long-term, frozen
Unopened powder is stable at −20 °C or colder.

Reconstitution — 5 mg vial, 200 mcg dose

On a 1 mL U-100 syringe. Check every figure against your own vial before drawing.

When to stop

  • Daytime grogginess that interferes with driving or work.
  • Worsening sleep rather than improvement.
  • Any allergic response: rash, hives, facial swelling or difficulty breathing. Seek urgent care.

Not approved anywhere. Studied in small human trials in the 1980s without a treatment being developed. Sold as a research chemical.
