Lyophilised
Also written lyophilized, freeze-dried
Freeze-dried. The process used to turn a peptide solution into a stable dry powder for shipping and storage.
Lyophilised powder is far more stable than the same peptide in solution, which is why vials arrive dry and why the storage window changes dramatically once water is added.
A vial that arrives with the powder loose or displaced has usually just been shaken in transit. A vial that arrives visibly wet has not.
