Reconstitution
Also written reconstitute, mixing
Adding liquid to a freeze-dried peptide powder to turn it into a solution that can be drawn into a syringe.
Peptides are shipped as a dry powder because they last far longer that way. Reconstitution is the step where you add bacteriostatic water to the vial, and it is the step that determines every number afterwards: how concentrated the solution is, how many units a dose comes to, and how many doses the vial holds.
The amount of water is a choice, not a fixed value. Adding more water makes the solution weaker, so the same dose becomes a larger, easier-to-measure volume. Adding less does the opposite.
