This is Semax with two changes: an acetyl group added to one end and an amide to the other. Both exist for the same reason. Peptides are broken down from their ends by enzymes, and capping them slows that down.
The result is described as more potent and longer-lasting than Semax, and the animal work supports that in the narrow sense of requiring less material for the same effect. What does not exist is a human trial of the modified molecule. Semax itself has Russian registration and decades of clinical use behind it; this version has neither.
That distinction is the whole page. Buying this instead of Semax means trading a compound with a genuine, if hard-to-evaluate, clinical record for one with an animal-derived potency claim and nothing else.
How it works
Semax is a fragment of ACTH with the hormonal activity removed, and it is understood to raise BDNF, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, along with affecting the dopamine and serotonin systems. The amidated version is presumed to do the same things.
The terminal modifications do not change what the molecule binds. They change how long it survives before peptidases cut it apart, which is why the potency difference is a duration difference, not a mechanistic one.
Longer-lasting is not automatically better for a compound acting on neurotransmitter systems. Nothing establishes what a sustained version of a pulsed effect does, and that question has not been asked.

Not approved anywhere. Semax itself is registered in Russia; this modified version is not, and has never been through a human trial. Sold only as a research chemical.

- More potent per milligram in animals. That is not the same as better. Semax has decades of Russian clinical use; the amidated version has never been given to a person in a study.
- What do the modifications actually do?
- They cap both ends of the peptide against the enzymes that would chew it up, so it lasts longer. They do not change what it binds to.
